Omis – Planovo

Crag Summary

Convenient with a capital C – complete with a few picnic tables. It’s certainly not very wild as you’re right next to the road BUT the lines are lovely, long with lots of options in the easy to mid-grade ranges. It was a perfect option for a shady morning climb before a river-outing in the afternoon.

Omis looks like it has a lot more to offer, including multi-pitches and adventures which stray much further from the road. We would have loved to have explored more of the climbs in Omis – including further ‘park-up-and-climb’ options through the tunnel. However, the next day, we were unable to explore further due to mountain roadworks and the risk of falling rock! Until next time…

• Who else was there: a couple of other climbers – including another family with a baby.
• Camping: we were able to stay overnight in the parking lot with permission from Omis Tours who we also booked a rafting trip with.

Nearby

We made a family rafting trip along the Cetina river – the white water was suitable even for young kids and everyone had a blast. It was also very helpful as it gave us a place to park, including overnight. It did get a bit cold after getting wet in the absence of wetsuits, however it would probably be perfect in hotter weather.
