Perazica Do

Crag Summary
Perazica Do was another opportunity to dip our toe into bouldering and it is such an unusual setting that climbing really was a cherry on top of a big iced cake. A narrow access road where you keep your fingers crossed the whole way to not meet an oncoming vehicle. A huge atmospheric abandoned hotel, possible to explore and laced with artful graffiti. And just a stone’s throw away, a beautiful clean beach, peppered with boulders to climb.
The sort of place where, you’re not surprised to chance up a music video being shot!
The boulders included some clearly identifiable easy, low-ball problems but harder problems available too. And lots of random blocks for the kids to explore – but honestly they were much too busy playing in the water.
We visited at Autumn/Winter and can imagine it could be much busier and a different vibe in the hotter months.
- Style: Bouldering
- Parking: 42.21069, 18.92572
- A narrow, steep but doable access road. Worth checking latest comments on google reviews in case things change.
- Topo and Approach details: Montenegro Bouldering App
- We visited on: Tuesday, 22nd October 2024
- Who else was there: we were the only ones bouldering, a few people visiting and enjoying the beach (note that the beach bar was closed as it was off-season)
- Camping: at the time when we visited, the parking was marked as a very highly rated and well-used park4night – the listing has since disappeared, so perhaps something to figure out by speaking with locals/other travellers.
Nearby
A short, scenic walk, including some atmospheric tunnels, takes you to a little town Petrovac where we stocked up on pastries.
This is but one beach on a stretch of dramatic coastline – encroaching rain meant we chased the sun into Albania but there looks like there are many more seaside views to explore in the vicinity.
Stopped briefly to recce the ‘Red Beach’ bouldering area further south. Parking is on the side of the main road, some interesting looking boulders but definitely less of a ‘beach’ for playing/relaxing.
Wow Factor
Never visited a beach like this before.
Approach
A stones throw from the parking. There is a slight scramble between rocks to go directly to the beach, but a walk round the back is also possible.
Shade
We found little patches next to boulders, but South facing so limited shade. Can imagine it would get hot in summer months.
Playtime Base
Beautiful, clean beach where you can easily keep an eye on the kids
Harder Climbs
Problems up to 7B+
Kiddy Climbs
Lots of easy blocks for kids to explore.
