Pirlitor

Crag Summary
We almost gave this place a miss. The topo did not look great, the number of climbs was small, and after a couple of unsuccessful crags in Montenegro so far (Tivat, Pluvice) we were not optimistic. However a climber we’d met before gave it the thumbs up and we are so glad we made the side-trip.
Excellent quality rock, interesting lines at a range of grades and a beautiful, peaceful setting – especially with the blazing autumnal trees. We also met other climbers including: one which had a wealth of knowledge regarding Montenegro crags, another that was drastically strong and could vouch for the hardest climbs, and also a family who we kept meeting up and climbing with for the rest of the trip.
- Style: Sport
- Parking: 43.16422, 19.22128 – grassy flat next to a small church
- If you are intimidated by the incline before this spot, you can park on the flat grass next to the road beforehand.
- If you have a more adventurous vehicle that you can continue your drive all the way to the crag.
- Topo and Approach details: Montenegro Climbing App
- We visited on: Wednesday, 16th October 2024
- Who else was there: 3 other climbers, however we’d actually met them before and arranged to meet there – can imagine that often you’d have this place to yourselves.
- Camping: free-camping is possible at the parking location(s) – no services, in a rural area, leave-no-trace essential.
Nearby
We visited here on the way from Durmitor National Park. Read a bit more about our recommendations for here in the Sedlo bouldering page.
If you know what you’re doing and it’s the right season, this place is clearly an excellent place for mushroom foraging. We were gifted 3 giant mushrooms by local foragers on our way out of the area (their car had briefly blocked our exit, they had 2 big bags bursting with shrooms)
Wow Factor
A pretty forest at the base, beautiful views when you climb to the top. Very peaceful.
Approach
A 20min, mostly flat, walk from the parking location. With a 4wd you can make it all the way to the crag.
Shade
Shade in the forest all day. Morning/afternoon sun on the wall depending on whether you climb the West/East side. Sun rather welcome given that the elevation keeps the air cool.
Playtime Base
A bit narrow and slopy. No crazy drop-offs. Grassy flat areas away from the crag base.
Harder Climbs
The West wall, whilst only 14 lines, has a nice range from 5s to 7s.
Kiddy Climbs
The East wall has 3s and 4s, perfect for tinies. Only that it is separate to the harder climbs.
