Piva

Crag Summary
One more entry where we advise giving the climbing a miss! We were desperate after a cat-pee filled day at Tivat but Piva was also a dud, this time due to extreme choss. But have heart, from hereon in Montenegro climbing got a helluva lot better so check the other places out.
The crags themselves are perched on top of scree piles and the one route I had a look at had further scree lumps coming off in handfuls. The signage at the crag is quite fascinating as site appears to have been developed as a tourism project funded by the European Union. I wonder if, with some more development and cleaning, whether the crag could work… but right now not so much.
The silver lining was that our next stop was Durmitor National park and, if we hadn’t stopped via Piva, we would have missed out on a beautiful, peaceful approach from the West (most people drive in from the East) – so if you have the time, we would recommend this as a worthy driving detour.
